Welcome to Steady

This is a placeholder post — the blog is wired up, the content is not written yet.

Steady exists because a small nonprofit runs on the same handful of jobs as a much larger one: donors, grants, programs, cases, volunteers and events, all needing someone to notice what changed and act on it.

Most tools solve one of those jobs. The result is a spreadsheet for donors, an inbox for cases, a shared drive for grants, and a monthly scramble to reconstruct what happened.

We think the platform should do the noticing. When a donor gives for the first time, when a grant deadline moves, when a volunteer’s hours need approval — that should arrive as a next step with the evidence attached, not as a report to read.

The first release covers the core of that loop. The posts that follow will describe what we shipped, what we got wrong, and what we are building next.
